Flood, storm tide and erosion prone areas 353,970 of 2,423,055 Queensland lots (15 %) sit inside the floodplain assessment overlay of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority — a broad, state-wide map of land that may be subject to flooding, used where the council has no detailed flood study. 33,824 lots are in a high storm tide hazard area and 87,603 more in a medium one; 70,724 are in a coastal erosion prone area.
